This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.
Object 279 is a Soviet prototype heavy tank developed in the 1950s. IN the Soviet Union at that time, several development plans for new heavy tanks were underway; one of them, Object 279, was developed as a heavy tank that takes into account activities in a nuclear war. This vehicle had a unique shape, with a total of four tracks, two on each side, on a disk-like fluidly curved body to prevent the vehicle from overturning due to the blast waves and shockwaves caused by a nuclear explosion. A prototype was produced in 1959. When the vehicle was completed and various tests were conducted, it achieved good test results, showing high maneuverability on rough roads due to the ground pressure of the four tracks and the high-output engine of a light tank. However, it was not adopted and mass-produced because its structure was complex and production costs were too high; there were also doubts about its ability to operate in terrain separated by large rivers, as it lacked amphibious performance.
This model kit from Takom features movable tracks and two types of gun barrels; photo-etched parts, clear parts, and decals for three versions are included, as is a figure of an NBC commando. Place your order today!
