This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.

In May 2017, the German Federal Army decided to adopt the Leopard 2 A7V to improve the combat power of its main battle tanks. The A7V is a further development of the Leopard 2 A7, which is a refurbished version of the Leopard 2 A6 that has been in use since 2001. The A7V adds armor to the front of the Leopard 2 A7 to increase its defense power, and the suspension has also been modified to accommodate the increased weight of the vehicle. The main gun is a 55-caliber 120mm gun with the same diameter as that of the A6, but the new shell allows it to engage targets up to 5,000 meters away. Furthermore, every detail has been updated, including the introduction of a driving support system that ensures combat capability even in poor visibility, improved tracks, and the addition of a basket on the side of the turret. The A7V, of which 104 vehicles were produced by refurbishing existing vehicles, began deployment to combat units in September 2021, and is increasing its presence as a keystone of defense not only in Germany, but also in the entire EU.

This 1/35-scale model kit from Tamiya reproduces all the features of the A7V from actual vehicle research, including the additional armor attached to the front of the vehicle, the shape of the rear turret and the right rear of the vehicle, which are significantly different from the Leopard 2 A6. It's modeled in combat style, with the rear panel mud flap removed and fixed to the rear side of the turret. The crawler tracks are assembled into units and connected by fitting. The mesh of the engine grille and the punched metal part of the turret side basket are sharply expressed with photo-etched parts, and the mine-protection module attached to the front of the lower part of the vehicle is also accurately modeled.
