This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.
The Marder series of tank destroyers were stop-gap measures to mount effective weaponry on available tracked chassis. The German Sd.Kfz 138 Marder III Ausf. H was one incarnation of the Marder tank destroyer, this version being built on the Czechoslovakian-designed Panzer 38(t) chassis but with the engine located in the rear (the "H" stands for "Heckmotor," meaning "rear engine") and the 75mm Pak 40/3 gun mounted mid-chassis. Marders were produced from 1942 and served on all fronts during WWII.
Tristar's new German 75mm Pak40 Fgst.Pz.Kpfw. Marder III Ausf. H is arguably the finest Marder kit available today, with absolutely exquisite molding and detail at every turn. The hull is made up of individual flat plates, with excellent detail on both sides of each plate. A highly detailed interior is included, with amazingly fine molding and very effective use of photo-etched metal parts throughout the driver's compartment, transmission, and fighting compartment. Tires are molded separately from the wheels for ease of painting. On-vehicle tools feature an effective mix of molded-on and photo-etched metal clasp detail. Plenty of 75mm ordnance and cases are also included. The modeler can choose between a canvas-covered or normal muzzle brake. Tracks are individual link and non-workable, but from all reports are a breeze to assemble and look very realistic when complete. Clear parts are supplied for the vision blocks. Markings are included for no less than eight different vehicles! Truly a superb kit. Figures not included.
