The Type 73 heavy-duty truck(SKW-464) is a general-purpose vehicle for the transportation of personnel and goods which was first used in 1973. In Japan's Ground Self-Defense Force, it is deployed in almost all units regardless of occupation, such as ordinary department, armor department, special department, etc. It is also operated by the Maritime Self-Defense Force and the Air Self-Defense Force. This vehicle's high durability and ability to handle rough terrain also greatly contributes to disaster dispatch and lifesaving efforts in various places.
