This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.
The Type 95 light tank was adopted by the Japanese Army in 1935. From the Sino-Japanese War to the end of the Pacific War, it was operated in all areas where the Japanese military was deployed, from the Kuril Islands in the north to the Marshall Islands in the south. Towards the end of the war, the 26th Tank Regiment, consisting mainly of Type 95 light tanks, was dispatched to intercept the American Army that was invading Iwo Jima in the Ogasawara Islands as a stepping stone to a direct attack on the Japanese mainland. Lieutenant Colonel Nishi Takeichi, who won the equestrian gold medal at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics and was nicknamed "Baron Nishi," led this tank corps as regiment commander, and a fierce battle took place.
This 1/35-scale kit from Fine Molds is a so-called "late model," based on the kit released as a new design and new mold in December 2015. It reproduces the extended front fender, which is a feature of the later model, and is equipped with a 7.7mm caliber Type 97 vehicle-mounted heavy machine gun. Order yours today!
