This is an injection-plastic figure kit.
"Konga" was a 1961 film made at Merton Park Studios, and although it was released in the U.K. and the U.S., it was never shown in Japan. It's the tale of a scientist who discovers a serum that grows animals to enormous size, and he injects it into a baby chimpanzee to create the massive Kongo, who then goes on a rampage in London. Monarch's new-mold model kit reproduces the climactic scene of the film, with Kongo running rampant in front of damaged buildings, with the scientist in his hand and two other people reacting in horror at his feet. Kongo's hairy body and angry face is sculpted in great detail, as is the base he stands on with rubble from the buildings nearby.
