Description
This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.
[Completely New Mold]
At the 1933 Berlin Motor Show, Auto Union unveiled the first Horch equipped with a V8 engine.
With an engine displacement of 3.0l, the model was named Type 830, reflecting its compact size for a Horch based on the number of cylinders and displacement.
The convertible body was supplied by the renowned coachbuilder Glockler from Dresden.
From 1935 onward, the Horch 830 was offered in two types of chassis: the short-bodied 830BK with a wheelbase of 3,200mm and the long-bodied 830BL with a wheelbase of 3,350mm.
A total of 11,625 civilian Horch 830 vehicles were manufactured at the Horch factory in Zwickau before production ceased in the spring of 1940 due to the war.
Additionally, from 1934 to 1937, the German Armed Forces received 4,536 units of the military Horch 830 R.
Unlike the civilian type, the military Horch 830 R was equipped with rigid axles front and rear for off-road use.
Besides the Kubelwagen specification of this kit, there are numerous variations of the actual vehicle, including radio-equipped types, van types, and ambulance types, and the manufacturer seems to be considering expanding the variety.
Stay tuned for future developments.
