This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.

Tamiya's excellent kit of the German heavy armored car Sd.Kfz.234/1 with a 2cm gun is back! In the latter half of World War II, it was the first planned eight-wheel heavy armored vehicle in the Sd.Kfz.234 series, which produced four types with a 2cm gun, a 5cm gun, a short-bodied 7.5cm gun and a long-bodied 7.5cm gun. A 210-horsepower air-cooled diesel engine is mounted on a flat body to achieve a maximum speed of 80km/h, and a cruising range of approximately 1,000km. It was equipped with high-running performance due to its 8-wheel-drive suspension, and had a rear cockpit for quick retreat. The open-top turret, coaxially equipped with a 2cm machine gun and a 7.92cm machine gun, was capable of anti-aircraft shooting with a maximum elevation angle of 72 degrees. Approximately 230 vehicles were produced in one year from March of 1944, and they were deployed to the reconnaissance units of tank divisions on both the Eastern and Western fronts. It was engaged in reconnaissance missions until the end of the war, taking advantage of its armament, excellent maneuverability, and wide radius of action.

This model kit from Tamiya upgrades Italeri's kit, with photo-etched parts included for the turret net, anti-aircraft aiming ring, jerrycan fixing belt and more, and new parts added for vehicle equipment and jerrycans.  A wide variety of personal equipment is included, and figures are included for two crewmembers and a motorbike messenger; a medium-sized military motorcycle is also included, as are decals for two versions.
