1/35 EE-T2 Osorio

by Trumpeter
$17.82 USD $22.28 USD

This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.

Is it an Abrams? Nope. Is it an Ariete? Nope again. What is it? Well, the EE-T1 Osorio (there was no EE-T2, as erroneously indicated on the box) MBT was Brazil's first and last domestically developed main battle tank. Designed and built in the 1980s by Engesa, component parts were obtained from around the world, and a tank with excellent performance for the time was created. Unfortunately, Engesa went bankrupt and the project was terminated after the start of the first Gulf War, when potential customer Saudi Arabia decided to purchase the existing M1 Abrams tank over the still-in-development Osorio.

Trumpeter's kit features molding reminiscent of technology from the late '70s, but it is certainly good enough to build an accurate model with a bit of work. Tracks are one-piece flexible bands with nice detail. Add this "phantom" tank to your modern MBT collection today! (The model pictured below has been slightly modified. Kit does not include antennas, stowage in turret rack, jerry can details, or tow cables.)
