Mikro Mir brings us a completely new mold kit of the CSS David torpedo boat! The David was a steamship developed during the Civil War and used by the Southern Navy. It was a semi-submarine that draws water into the ballast tank so that only the control tower and chimney come out of the water during battle; this was also advantageous for night attacks because it was difficult to find. It used smokeless charcoal for fuel. The CSN (Allied Navy), which was suffering from the blockade of Charleston Port in South Carolina, was participating in the blockade in October 1863 under the command of Lieutenant William T. Glassel. She attacked with an exterior torpedo attached to a spar on her bow; she unsuccessfully attacked the USS Memphis in the North Edisto River in March of the following year, and another unsuccessful attack was made against the screw frigate USS Wabash in April of that year.
