The Leopard 1 is a second-generation main battle tank developed by West Germany. It was exported mainly to NATO countries, and many improved versions have also been developed. The Leopard C2 MEXAS is a modified version of the Leopard 1 adopted by the Canadian Army, and is equipped with the Modular Extended Armor System (MEXAS) developed by the German company IBD.
