Description
This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.
With its four-wheel drive and high ground clearance, the Ford F30 seemed the obvious choice for a patrol truck.
However, the additional weight and high fuel consumption of four-wheel drive (about twice that of a Chevrolet truck) created a number of problems for these vehicles.
More and more Fords were abandoned and eventually all remaining F30s were replaced by Chevrolet 30CWTs, as it turned out that Ford engines were very susceptible to sand and the trucks began to require an unusual amount of oil after relatively short working hours.
March 1942.LRDG Fords usually had the hood and cab removed for better cooling and the condenser mounted on the running boards.
