This is a resin-cast aircraft kit.
The Gloucester Gauntlet is a single-seat biplane fighter designed by Gloucester Aircraft in the United Kingdom in the 1920s. After the prototype SS18 first flew in 1929, the improved 2219, with a replaced engine, was officially adopted by the Air Force as the Gauntlet Mk.I in 1934. The Gauntlet Mk.II was the main production type, and 204 of this aircraft were manufactured. The Gauntlet was the fastest fighter of the Royal Air Force in the mid-1930s, and was an extremely good interceptor fighter due to its high rate of climb. At one point it was the main fighter of the Royal Air Force, with 14 mainland British squadrons equipped with this plane in 1937. By 1939, mainland British squadrons were equipped with Hurricanes in place of Gauntlets, but in Africa and elsewhere they were deployed to ground attack units until 1942. In addition, the aircraft exported to Finland was operated as a higher training aircraft during the Winter War, and trained many Finnish Air Force aces.
This high-quality full-resin kit comes with 101 resin parts, 23 photo-etched parts and two transparent films. Its stability is increased by inserting metal wires into the wings and main landing gear. Decals for three versions (two RAF, one Finnish Air Force) are included as well. Order yours today!
