This is an injection-plastic aircraft model kit.
The PT-13 Cadet was developed by Stearman Aircraft as a military training aircraft. It made its maiden flight in 1934, but even for that time its structure was old-fashioned with a biplane body and a hub-covered wooden frame; however, since its simple structure was suitable for mass production at a low cost, a large number of orders were placed for pilot training in World War II. Stearman was acquired by Boeing in 1937, but the Cadet continued to be produced. After the war, it was released in large quantities from the military and widely used in the private sector. In addition, its high maneuverability made advanced aerobatic flight possible, and many are still in operation. The PT-13 was an early production model, with a Lycoming R-680 engine; more than 2,000 of this aircraft were built. The U.S. Navy adopted it under the name N2S and used it to train pilots.
