This is an injection-plastic passenger car kit.
The Ford Mustang made its debut in 1964, introducing a system that could be finished to your liking with a sporty style and abundant optional parts known as a Full Choice System. This helped to create the "pony car" genre. The first minor change was made as early as five month after its birth. The Mustang started with two types of bodies -- a hardtop and a convertible -- and a fastback type was introduced in 1965. It had a 200-cubic-inc (3,277cc) in-line six-cylinder OHV engine and a 289-cubic-inch (4,763cc) V8 OHV engine with a larger displacement than the 1964 version. This laid the foundation for a popular brand that has been around for over 50 years! The 1967 fastback attracted a lot of attention when it appeared in the action movie "Bullitt."
This kit from AMT/Ertl reproduces the 1967 Ford Mustang GT fastback, with a realistic replica of the distinctive fastback body style. The front grille, rear panel, trunk lid and hood are all separate parts; the hood can be opened and closed after assembly so you can admire the V-type eight-cylinder engine with its auxiliary equipment. The chassis that houses the engine is also modeled in great detail, with separate parts such as the front and rear suspension, exhaust pipe and drive shaft, in addition to the detailed molding of the floor panel. The interior is an assembly type with separate parts for the dashboard and door linings for sharp details.
