Description

This is an injection-plastic passenger car kit.

Launched in October 1908, the T-type Ford is the world's first mass-produced assembly-line vehicle that opened the door to motorization for the general public. The T-type Ford quickly became a popular alternative to horses in the U.S.; more than 15 million of these cars were produced until they were discontinued in July 1925. Equipped with a 2.9-liter four-cylinder engine, it delivers a maximum speed of approximately 70km/h. Body variations such as touring and roadster versions were also available, and widely popular. Depot hacks were among the many variations produced, and were mainly used as shuttles between railway stations and hotels.

This kit from AMT/Ertl brings us the 1923 Depot Hack version of the T-type Ford. Its classic 1920s styling includes thin tires and spoked wheels. The body accurately expresses the seat layout with passengers behind the driver's seat; the body is molded with realistic woodgrain for the floorboards. The frame, based on the T-type Ford commercial vehicle, accurately reflects its shape, and the engine is the famous in-line four-cylinder engine. This kit allows you to experience automotive history firsthand as you build it, with the front and rear suspensions using leaf springs. Add this masterpiece from the early days of automobile society to your collection today!
