The Land Cruiser is a Toyota model that is gaining worldwide popularity and recognition as a cross-country vehicle. Its birth was the BJ type that first appeared in 1951, and mass production began in 1953. Since then, the Land Cruiser, which has continued to be upgraded and remodeled, has improved its running performance on rough roads, and also improved its comfort. It still has many fans today. The 40 series, first appearing in 1960, became a long-selling version that was produced until 1984, with many minor changes in details. The BJ-44 version appeared in 1979. It was equipped with a 3.2-liter diesel engine. It was exported not only to Japan, but also to the United States and other countries around the world, gaining a reputation for high reliability with few breakdowns. It can be said that the BJ-44 laid the foundation for the current Land Cruiser.
This model kit from Platz reproduces the BJ-44's distinctive tough style. The press lines of the body panels are firmly expressed, and parts are included to build it with either a hard top or a soft top. It can also be built as either a right-hand or left-hand drive version. The suspension on the underside of the chassis and the four-wheel drive train are also fully reproduced, giving it a three-dimensional mechanical finish. Rubber tires with a realistically reproduced tread are included too, as is the winch mounted on the front bumper. The interior is also completely detailed. Order yours today!
