This is an injection-plastic racing car model kit.
From the manufacturer:
It was in 1939 that the name Talbot Lago was first heard in racing circles. A one-seater, with the pilots compartment offset, it is the work of two men who joined the Talbot workshop at Suresnes--Antonio Lago and Becchia.
The finest achievements of this car were to be third place in the Grand Prix de Pau and in the Grand Prix de l'Automobile Club de France in 1939. Its crew, Louis and Jean-Louis Rosier (father and son), at the wheel of No. 5, imposed their supremacy during the 24 Hours race, at the head of the race practically from start to finish and, while they were at it, breaking the circuit record with 165.49kph.
There was victory in store for the No. 5 at the end of the 24 Hours, with 3465.12 km covered at an average of 144.38kph. Two other Talbots also competed, and they finished second and thirteenth. 1951 was to see the last races for the Talbot Lago, with the firm's pilots getting on in years, and financial problems appearing on the horizon.
The Heller model represents the car of Louis Rosier, 1949, 1950 and 1951 Champion of France, as it can be seen today at the Musee Henti Malartre at La Rochetaille in Rhone, France.
Will be 16.8cm long and 6.9cm wide when completed; 86 pieces.
