New mold! The Toyota Corolla Levin AE92 is one of the vehicles that participated in the Spa 24 Hours in 1989, known as an endurance race for touring cars. It was a Group A specification based on Toyota's sporty Corolla Levin AE92 type, with an in-line four-cylinder 1587cc engine mounted in front, with front-wheel drive. It participated in touring car races in Japan and was in a dead heat with its rivals, then it challenged the Spa 24 Hour race, where touring cars from all over the world gathered. The 1989 race was held on July 22-23, and Car No. 34 was driven by Hideshi Matsuda, Morio Nitta, and Kaori Okamoto. The participation of Kaori Okamoto, who was active as an actress at the time, attracted a great deal of attention. She won the 33rd grid in qualifying, and in the final race she continued to run steadily, finishing 49 laps behind the winner and finishing third in the class.
