Born from a complete model redesign on August 19, 1993, the R33-type Skyline earned the nickname "GT9." Developed with the concept of being the "quintessential Grand Touring car -- a true mainstream leader in driving excellence," the R33 represented a further evolution of its predecessor, the R32 -- the model that had marked the triumphant return of the Skyline as a true driver's car. To achieve an ideal front-to-rear weight distribution, the battery was relocated to the trunk.
