This is an injection-plastic racing car model kit.
The legendary NASCAR driver Richard Petty was active in the Strictly Stock, Grand National and Winston Cup series, earning the nickname of "The King" for his record seven wins. He debuted in 1958, and was named NASCAR Rookie of the Year for the following year. In 1975, he had a record-breaking 13 wins for the season! He retired in 1992, making his last run in the Hooters 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. After retirement, he ran the Petty Enterprises team, received the first Presidential Medal of Freedom presented to a motor-sports athlete in 1992, and was elected to the International Motorsports Hall of Fame in 1997.
This kit from Salvino JR Models accurately reproduces the engine, suspension and interior of Petty's final race car, down to the roll bar and nets. Large-format decals by PowerSlide are included, with car numbers and various sponsor logos; the tires are soft resin, and the plated parts were made with real chrome for a realistic texture!
