This is an injection-plastic racing car model kit.
The MG Metro 6R4 was developed and introduce by British Leyland in the World Rally Championship (WRC), which was fully contested with Group B machines from 1983. It is based on the Rover Metro -- a small car that appeared in 1980. Patrick Head, technical director of F-1's main team, Williams Grand Prix Engineering, is said to have been involved in its development. Based on Metro's monococque, the rear half of the car is equipped with a newly built steel tube frame, and a V-type eight-cylinder engine is mounted midship. The engine is a naturally aspirated aluminum 90-degree V-6 2991cc engine. The drive system used full-time 4WD. It made its debut in the final race of the 1985 season and participated in the 1986 World Rally Championship. After that, the stage was moved to Pikes Peak Hill Climb, where this car was also active.
This model kit from Belkit reproduces the MG Metro 6R4, which was active in rallies from 1985 to 1986, in 1/24 scale. The kit is fully detailed, including the engine. The enthusiastic mechanism of Group B machines is precisely modeled in the body and in the engine mounted midship. The body has an impressive style that's unique to Group B machines, such as the wide over fenders, front wing, and rear spoiler. The engine mounted at the rear of the chassis is a V-6 cylinder; the transmission and 4WD mechanism that can be distributed to the front and rear are reproduced. The cockpit is modeled with separate parts such as rally equipment installed on the dashboard, footrests on the floor, and tools such as fire extinguishers and wrenches. The decals by Cartograf reproduce the markings of car number 15, Jimmy McRae's machine, which participated in the RAC Rally held in England in November 1986. The kit comes with photo-etched parts, seat belt material, and a masking sheet for painting the window frames. Order yours today!
