This is an injection-plastic racing car model kit.
The Escort was born in 1967 as a small popular car developed by Ford in England. A four-cylinder engine is installed vertically at the front, and a general FR system that drives the rear wheels is adopted. The suspension adopted a rigid axle leaf spring for the rear wheels. The first model, the Mk.I, was produced until 1974, and was succeeded by the Mk.II. The Escort, which gained popularity as a small mass-market car, had a simple mechanism configuration, and was active as a base vehicle in various motor sports categories. A high-performance sporty model was added, and the RS1600 equipped with Cosworth's BDA1600cc twin cam won many victories in the rally field from the end of the 1960s to the 1970s. In the RAC rally held in England, Timo Makinen won three consecutive victories from 1973 to 1975. It became a masterpiece car that carved its name into the motor sports scene.
This model kit from Belkit reproduces the Daily Mirror RAC Rally specification driven by Timo Makinen in 1973. The distinctive style of the body with its over fenders is carefully replicated; the front and rear bumpers and grilles are prepared with plated parts. The underside of the chassis has a three-dimensional finish with separate parts for the lower part of the engine and the exhaust pipe, and the leaf spring of the rear suspension is also well modeled. The interior is reproduced in detail, including the dashboard, seats, and roll bar. Night stage lights are included. Photo-etched parts and seat belt material are included for a realistic finish, and Cartograf provides the decals for the markings. Photo-etched parts for items such as the brake discs and soft plastic parts like the mud flaps are also included. Place your order today!
