From the manufacturer:
The enormous TU-160 is called the "White Swan" thanks to its white paintwork, but its size in combination with its enormous swing-wings do give the long-haul bomber a certain elegance. In the West, the four-engine bomber is better known by its NATO call name Blackjack, which it was given in the 1980s when there was still some uncertainty about its true type designation. Long after the beginning of flight testing in December 1981, serial production of the TU-160 did not begin until years later, the first planes being delivered 30 years ago. In April 1987, they went to the 184th Heavy Bomber Aerial Regiment based at Pryluky, Ukraine. This applies to the original of this new model type in the 1/200 scale, one of the beautiful white planes with the tactical designation "33."
The TU-160 model hasn't lost anything of its impressive silhouette, the original being the world's biggest and heaviest warplane and supersonic plane today. It is mainly armed with conventional and nuclear cruise missiles, and is able to cover long distances thanks to air-to-air refueling. Designed as a counterpart to the American B-1 Lancer, its production run was a lot smaller, but Russia wants to resume manufacturing of the 2000km/h bomber in a modernised version.
The model, a new Herpa Wings type, is delivered with swivelling wings and removable landing gear. This way, it can be displayed on the enclosed display stand at high-speed flight attitude with folded wings and retracted wheels.
