The McLaren MP4/2B participate in the 1985 F1 Grand Prix; it was an advanced version of the MP4/2 that appeared in 1984, designed by John Barnard. The carbon monocoque frame was equipped with a 1.5-liter TAG Porsche turbo V6 engine developed by Porsche; the engine was a 4-valve head 80-degree V-type. It also carried two KKK turbochargers, and demonstrated the strongest performance at the time. It was driven by Alain Prost and Niki Laura in the 1985 season. Prost won five times, Laura won one time, and Alain Prost became the driver's champion. Prost's second win of the season came in the 1985 Monaco Grand Prix.
This model kit from Beemax precisely reproduces the McLaren MP4/2B from the fourth round of the 1985 Monaco Grand Prix from the chassis to the engine. The body cowl can be removed after completion so you can admire the monocoque frame, suspension, and cockpit. The layout of the front and rear suspension, including the suspension arm, is firmly expressed. The V-6 twin-turbo TAG Porsche engine has been accurately recreated down to the accessories, and the mechanical finish is unique to 1/20 scale. Decals are included for the No. 2 machine driven by Alain Prost at the 1985 Monaco Grand Prix. A detail-up parts set is also available! Order this spectacular car for your own collection today!
