This is a posable, high-grade or better injection-plastic kit of a science-fiction/anime item.
Following hot on the nacelles of their first highly successful Enterprise kit, Bandai brings us the USS Enterprise NCC-1701-E, as seen in "First Contact" and "Nemesis"! The sleek 'sporty' look designed by John Eaves and Rick Sternbach has been superbly reproduced in this 1/1700 scale kit. Measuring 40 cm (about 16 inches) long when completed, it features snap assembly and is fully-painted; no cement or paint are required. The quality of this kit more than equals that of Bandai's first Enterprise kit, with unbelievably sharp, fine detail and markings; the ship's name on the hull, for instance, is incredibly tiny but remains legible!
Just like the previous release, this one features a nifty illumination system, which places six bulbs within plastic panels throughout the interior of the kit, to light the windows in the saucer, the engine nacelles, the impulse engines and the deflector array. The illumination system is driven by three AA (UM-3) batteries (sold separately) that hide in the Star Trek emblem-shaped stand. Running the wires and securing them to contacts is probably the trickiest part of the whole assembly job, but not only have the instructions been improved over the previous version, the Enterprise-E saucer section comes partially-wired already, making your job even easier!
You can display the ship on the display stand, or remove it at any time for hanging or other display; parts are included to plug the joint to the stand on the bottom of the hull.
As an added bonus the instruction booklet contains commentary from John Eaves and Rick Sternbach, in English and in Japanese, on their collaboration for the design of the Enterprise-E.
