This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.
The Panzer II was a 10-ton light tank used by Germany during the interwar period and the early years of World War II.
In preparation for rearmament, the German military began producing the 5-ton Panzer I tank in 1934. However, it was too small for training purposes, and the Panzer I only equipped with a machine gun, which limited its ability to conduct proper firing training. As a result, the German Army Weapons Office's Section 6 requested development proposals from Krupp, Henschel, and MAN in 1934.
After comparing the proposals, MAN's design was selected, and the prototype was completed in 1935. This led to the production of the A model, followed by the B model with thicker armor, and the C model with changes to the suspension and engine.
In July 1937, the first mass-produced A model was equipped with an improved engine and transmission based on the C model, followed by the B model's production in December 1937 and the C model's production starting in June 1938. A, B, and C models were produced until April 1940, totaling 1,088 vehicles. In October 1938, during production, the official designation "Panzer II (Sd.Kfz.121)" was assigned.
