Asa Kaigan Railway operates rail and bus services connecting Kaiyo Town in Tokushima Prefecture with Toyo Town in Kochi Prefecture.
On December 25, 2021, they became the world's first to launch full commercial service of a DMV (Dual Mode Vehicle), which runs on both tracks and roads. This innovation has gained attention both domestically and internationally as a new approach to tourism promotion, regional revitalization, and emergency disaster response.
To mark the third anniversary of its launch, DMV Unit No. 933 "Asakaigan Ishin" has been turned into a model.
The DMV is a unique vehicle that can travel on both tracks and roads via a mode change, and the model replicates this with a lever underneath that allows users to switch between train mode and bus mode.
Due to its dual-nature design, this item is released under both the "Railway Collection" and "The Bus Collection" brands.
Please Note:
- The train mode wheels use metal parts. Due to the parts structure, the metal wheels do not rotate smoothly.
- Includes display rail (TOMIX S70-PC), mode interchange unit (TOMIX S70-WT), and road section (for running bus display, S70-RO).
- Not compatible with motorization for operation.
