The 113 Series 3800 subseries was introduced in 2000 through modifications by JR West, resulting in nine 2-car sets.
Based on the earlier 113 Series 800 subseries, these trains were refurbished to add driver cabs to what were formerly intermediate cars, and equipped for one-man operation, giving birth to a unique new formation.
The KuMoHa 113 cars that were modified into leading cars feature newly added cabs on mid-car bodies for operational efficiency. Combined with the exterior reinforcement plate on the front, they boast a rugged and distinctive look.

These trains primarily operated on the Sanin Main Line between Fukuchiyama and Kinosaki (now Kinosaki Onsen), and on the Fukuchiyama Line between Sasayamaguchi and Fukuchiyama.
They were all retired by 2008, replaced by the newer 223 Series 5500 subseries.

This product recreates a formation with two pantographs mounted on the roof of the KuMoHa 112, used for de-icing.
