In this modern age of 2025, the revival of bonnet buses that have been in operation for nearly 60 years has become a hot topic.

Tokai Jidosha, which operates route buses and highway buses mainly in the Izu Peninsula of Shizuoka Prefecture, has restored a bonnet bus that was once used on a sightseeing route along the Amagi Road and is now in service in a new look.

Shikoku Kotsu, based in Miyoshi City, Tokushima Prefecture, raised funds through crowdfunding to pay for the renovation, and by April 2023, the repairs will be completed and the old route bus paint will be restored.
