This is an injection-plastic aircraft model kit.
The PBY Catalina is a flying boat that served America in World War II. Its first flight was in 1935; it was equipped with two R-1830 Twin Wasp engines. It initially lacked the ability to operate from a land base, and was eventually developed into an amphibious aircraft equipped with retractable legs. It's widely used by the U.S. Navy for offshore patrol, lightning bombing, transportation, and search-and-rescue. When used by the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II, it was renamed OA-10A and was primarily used for search-and-rescue missions in the Pacific Theater.
This kit from Minicraft features the trademark retractable wheels; the panel lines are finely detailed. Decals by Cartograf for two versions operated by the U.S. Army Air Force in the Pacific Theater during World War II are included. Order yours today!
