This is an injection-plastic aircraft model kit.

Platz brings us a 1/144-scale model kit of the local fighter Shinden, which was a single prototype produced by the Japanese Imperial Navy at the end of World War II! This aircraft has a design significantly different from existing fighter jets, with its wing in front and the engine located at the rear of the fuselage. Its appearance in 2023's "Godzilla Minus One" has led to an increase in its popularity!

Research and development of the actual Shinden began in 1943 at the Naval Aviation Engineering Center as a high-speed fighter with performance exceeding that of the Zero Fighter. The aircraft structure is a forward-wing type, equipped with four 30mm cannons in the nose, and the Mitsubishi Ha-43-42 engine at the rear of the aircraft provides a maximum speed of 740km/h, specialized for intercepting B29 bombers attacking the mainland. The first prototype was completed by Kyushu Aircraft in June 1945 and made its first flight in August, but the war ended without mass production. This model includes decals for the first prototype, and also for the fictitious markings of the 343rd Air Corps Sword Unit, which struggled to defend the mainland until the end of the war.
