This is an injection-plastic jet aircraft model kit.
From the 1950s to the 1960s, much research was done around the world on the use of nuclear energy. It was expected that cruising power would be almost unlimited when it was mounted to an aircraft, and at one point it was attempted to mount it to a strategic bomber. Development began in 1951, and a B-36 was remodeled with a P-1 pressurized water reactor installed in the bomb layer, the nose was remodeled, and radiation protection measures and cockpit encapsulation were applied. In the NB-36H, the reactor was not used for propulsion but was used to investigate the effects of radiation. From 1955 to 1957, 47 test flights were conducted, but due to a high risk of a crash, the plan was canceled in 1958 and the aircraft was dismantled.
The biggest change in the aircraft's appearance was the encapsulation of the cockpit, which greatly changed the shape of the nose; all armaments were also removed. This model kit adds new parts and decals for its nuclear markings. Order yours today!
