In 1995, it was selected as a joint primary trainer for the U.S. Air Force and Navy, and production models have been deployed since 1999. The T-6 Texan II has also been chosen as the successor to the T-7 by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force.
This is an improved version for the U.S. Navy, featuring a glass cockpit and additional hardpoints. It includes two types of markings.
