Description
This is an injection-plastic military vehicle model kit.
The Type 74 is a domestically-produced main battle tank officially adopted in 1974 as the successor to the Type 61 tank. Its low profile and 105mm rifled cannon, combined with hydropneumatic suspension, allowed for stable posture control even on rough terrain. This allowed for effective ridgeline firing from hilly terrain. While its successor, the Type 90 tank, was primarily deployed in Hokkaido, 873 Type 74 tanks were deployed nationwide. After nearly 50 years of service, the Type 74 tank was gradually replaced by the Type 10 tank and Type 16 mobile combat vehicle, and all vehicles were retired at the end of March 2024.
