This is an injection-plastic aircraft model kit.
The Douglas DC-3 was an airliner that entered service in 1936. It was a twin-engine propeller aircraft with two Pratt & Whitney engines, active in airlines around the world. When World War II broke out, it was used in large quantities by the U.S. military for transport missions. It was robust enough to take off and land using unpaved or grassy airfields, in addition to paved airfields. The DC-3 used by the military was given the name C-47 Dakota, or Skytrain. A float-equipped seaplane type was also developed with the aim of operating in areas without airfields, such as remote islands. The prototype made its maiden flight in 1942, and about 10 of this type of DC-3 were built and deployed in the Pacific Theater.
This kit from Minicraft features newly molded parts for the floats; the pillars that connect the floats to the aircraft, the wheels attached to the float and the floats themselves are all carefully reproduced. The panel lines are also delicately expressed, and decals are included for both military and civilian versions. Order yours today!
