The B-29 Superfortress was a bomber that was put into operation in 1944, and was used in air raids on mainland Japan at the end of World War II. It was developed as a long-range, high-altitude bomber witha pressurized cabin. It carried four R-3350 air-cooled star-type double-row 18-cylinder engines equipped with a turbocharger, and its maximum bomb load was as high as 9 tons. In addition to Japan, it was also used to bomb India, inland China, Manchuria, Southeast Asia, and the Kyushu region of Japan. It also took part in the Korean War.
This kit from Minicraft is of the B-29A, a late production type. Newly molded parts are included to reproduce the differences from the previous production type, including the four upper nose turrets and the radome on the underside of the fuselage. The kit can be assembled in flight or parked, and a display stand is included. Decals are included for both World War II and Korean War versions. Order yours today!
