The RO635 is a 9mm caliber submachine gun that debuted in the 1980s as a sister model to the M16A1. It shares many parts with the M16, the official firearm of the United States, and can be used with a similar operating feel. Handgun ammunition has been adopted by SWAT, the U.S. Department of Justice's Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Marine Corps' Fleeted Anti-Terrorism Security Forces because of its ability to reduce collateral damage compared to full-power rifle ammunition.!
