About the L85A3 type

The British-made SA80 automatic rifle is a bullpup-type 5.56mm rifle with a long barrel but with a short overall length.

It has been deployed in the British Army under the name of L85A1 since 1985.

Since then, it has been battle-proofed and upgraded, with the current model, the A3 type, becoming official in 2018.

The main features of the Type A3 are the adoption of a lightweight Hkey hole-type handguard and a low-visibility color.

Accessories have been updated in parallel, and the Type A3 is often paired with the new Laser Light Module Mk3 and the rugged Canadian-made OS4 4x magnification scope.
