The Type 38 infantry gun type is a bolt-action rifle that served as Japan's official rifle for 40 years, from 1905 (Meiji 38) after the Russo-Japanese War, to the end of World War II. It was developed by Kijiro Nanbu, who was a subordinate of Shigeaki Arisaka. Based on its predecessor, the Model 30 rifle, it has undergone improvements based on military experience, such as simplifying the bolt structure, adding safety measures, and adding a dust cover. It was highly evaluated by the United States, which was confronted by this firearm, and many of them went to the U.S. after the war and played an active role under the name of Arisaka Type 38.
Tomytec adds a precisely modeled reproduction of the Type 38 rifle to its "Little Armory" lineup, with the assistance of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Weapon School! It can be assembled with any of six types of bolt parts, depending on each form and the presence or absence of the dust cover. The dust cover is integrated with the bolt to reduce the thickness. The bayonet is detachable, and the rear sight can be raised and lowered; it's molded in brown and black plastic. This is the second entry in the "STUDY 1942" series, which reproduces various firearms that were developed before World War II and became the foundation of modern firearms. Your 1/12-scale figures will love it -- order yours today!
