This is an injection-plastic jet aircraft model kit.

The T-4 is a subsonic jet aircraft developed by Japan as a successor to the T-33A trainer aircraft, and is a secondary training aircraft for Japan Air Self-Defense Force crew members who have completed their primary training in propeller aircraft and proceed to jet fighter training. It is characterized by the adoption of a new transonic airfoil to achieve stable flight from low speeds to high speeds (transonic speeds). Due to its stable flight performance, units of the JASDF began deploying it in 1988, and it is also used by the aerobatic flight team Blue Impulse. In 2016, Blue Impulse celebrated its 20th anniversary, and commemorative painting was applied to No. 621 of the 11th Squadron, which was unveiled at the commemorative ceremony at Matsushima Air Base, attracting the attention of visitors along with Blue Impulse.

This model kit from Platz reproduces the special commemorative painting aircraft unveiled at the 20th anniversary ceremony of the 11th Squadron in 2016, also the 20th anniversary of the T-4 Blue Impulse.
