About the Ferrari 312T3
The sleek and powerful Ferrari 312T3 made its racing debut in the 1978 South African Grand Prix. Underneath it's aerodynamically polished, wide body lay a 3-liter horizontally installed 12 cylinder engine with 510 horsepower of output. With drivers Carlos Reutemann and Gilles Villeneuve at the wheel, the Ferrari 312T3 took a total of 4 victories for the Grand Prix season and took second place in the 1978 Constructors Cup.
Light-weight, no-nonsense chassis
This R/C model assembly kit recreates Ferrari's 1978 racing car the 312T3, its form captured with a realistic polycarbonate-ABS body. It uses the F104W chassis, a 2WD direct drive platform based upon the F104 with wide front suspension arms to depict the wider cars of the 312T3's era. An FRP double deck frame (upper: 2mm, lower: 3.2mm) uses front independent kingpin coil spring suspension and a rear rigid FRP T-bar setup with friction plates and coil spring. Also included are a clear polycarbonate body, ball differential, gear case allowing 5 different ground clearances, and high grip sponge tires.
