Located in Southern Africa, Rhodesia gained independence from the British in 1965 and existed until 1979.
Rhodesia ceased to exist as soon as the Republic of Zimbabwe was established after elections following a ceasefire in the long-running civil war.
The special forces unit that belonged to the Rhodesian National Army was the Selous Skaartz.
Established with the cooperation of the South African and British armies, it was an elite anti-guerrilla warfare unit that conducted reconnaissance, intelligence activities, and enemy tracking.
A new series based on this legendary elite unit is about to begin.
The first series features a recreation of a scene in which soldiers are tracking guerrillas who have crossed the border, with one soldier on his knees looking for direction based on footprints and the other patrolling the perimeter.
The combat uniforms typical of the tropics and the camouflage lizard caps used by the Selous Skouts have also been well reproduced.
The Rhodesian camouflage on the combat uniform can also be seen in the box art examples.
