This is a completed action toy designed for collectors.

Not often seen in the battlefield, Autobot medic Ratchet spends most of his time at the base repairing fellow comrades who were damaged in battle, but he's still one loyal and courageous Autobot soldier that can be relied on when called upon for combat. A slight remolding of Ironhide and painted to resemble Ratchet's G1 colors, the toy is capable of switching between ambulance and robot modes. Ratchet features chrome parts for his headlights, taillights, and weapon, plus a clear part at the back of his head to allow light to shine through and light up his eyes! His dual-function weapon can switch between its sword mode and cannon mode.

Initially released in the U.S. in Hasbro's "Transformers: Universe" toy line, Ratchet and other Transformers in this "Henkei! Henkei! Transformers" line are redecorated by Takara Tomy for the Japanese market with a different color scheme for a more accurate resemblance to their counterparts in the "Transformers" animated shows. Each toy in this series also features chrome-plated parts and comes in Japanese packaging.
