Yamato launches its hotly anticipated new GN-U ("gun'yuu," the Japanese phrase for "rival chiefs") Gou Ultimate Super Robot Selection line with the height of old-skool cool, Galaxy Cyclone Braiger! The merciless machine that electrified the anime world at the pre-Macross dawn of the '80s has been crafted as a rachet-jointed articulated figure 25cm tall that's able, through interchangeable parts (the next-best thing to the animated version's expanding plasma!), to form ship Braistar and car Braithunder. Braiger's Brai-Sword, Brai-Spear, and Brai-Cannon weapons are included, and this initial release also comes with a DVD (a multi-region player may be required to view it outside Japan) featuring the text-less opening titles of Kokusai Eigasha's 1981-82 "Braiger" TV series, drawn in large part by super-animator Yoshinori Kanada and backed by one of the all-time great anime theme songs. Made of ABS, ATBC-PVC and die-cast alloy, Braiger comes packaged in a flap-fronted box; flip up the flap to see the window-packaged 'bot within. We can't wait to see what's next, especially if Yamato continues with Kokusai Eigasha creations (dare we dream of a Galvion?)!
