Produced on the eve of anime icon Gatchaman's 30th anniversary, Unifive's diecast God Phoenix flew off the shelves faster than most collectors could grab it. Now, more than a year later, this hotly sought machine returns in a brilliant metallic turquoise-greenish-blue shade (with metallic red trim, of course) that's akin to how the ship's color can appear in older prints of episodes! Almost entirely die-cast, the God Phoenix has gimmicks galore--retractable landing gear, booster intakes with panels that open and close, pop-up Bird Missile--and can carry the plastic G-1 jet, G-2 racecar, G-3 cycle, and G-4, uh, thingie-mobile (sorry, Jinpei) that are included in the set. Also among the goodies are a hefty plastic replica of hero Ken's birdrang--no doubt part of the reason this set is recommended for ages 15 and up--and an adjustable display base shaped like the team's Crescent Coral Reef base.
