The French battleship Richelieu was planned as a larger, modern version of the Dunkerque-class battleships. The ship was not even completed when France surrendered to Germany in 1940, but she later joined the Allied forces and was finally completed in New York in 1943. After serving with the Allies in the Atlantic and Pacific, she was present in Tokyo Bay for the signing of the Japanese Instrument of Surrender on September 2, 1945. She served until 1958, and was finally scrapped in 1968.
This kit features a full one-piece hull, and represents the Richelieu as she appeared in 1943. Includes a nice drydock-style stand with nameplate.
