This is an injection-plastic aircraft model kit.

Trumpeter continues their very popular Thunderbolt series with the ultimate production Jug, the long-range N model! Just like in the previous releases, we're given a super-detailed engine, engine accessory compartment, complete turbocharger, intercooler and all associated ducting (most of which will never be seen), four styles of propeller (although only the assymmetrical paddle-blade Curtis is correct for the N), open gun bays, optional open or closed cowl flaps, optional rear-view mirrors, and stores including a flat-style belly tank, 150-gallon Lockheed tanks, 75-gallon metal tanks, 108-gallon paper tanks, 250-lb. bombs, 500-lb. bombs, and bazooka tubes (not used on the N). Decals are for Lt. Oscar Perdomo's "Lil Meatie's Meat Chopper"" and the colorful "2 Big and Too Heavy/Short Snorter," both Ie Shima-based aircraft in the last days of World War II. Unfortunately, "Short Snorter" suffers from a major mis-spelling of its name on the decal sheet, meaning replacement markings will be required.
