1/32 Grumman F4F-3 Wildcat Early Type

Trumpeter follows up their well-received -4 Wildcat kit with this early -3 version. This release features new wing parts to correctly represent the non-folding wings of the -3, as well as a new windscreen and telescopic sight as fitted to early -3 aircraft. All the detail of the original release is still here, with a complete engine and accessory compartment assembly, fully detailed cockpit, landing gear and gun/ammo bays, as well as movable control surfaces. Underwing drop tanks are included; however, these were not fitted to -3 aircraft. Also, a couple of pieces of sheet plastic should be added under the cockpit to simulate the fuselage fuel tank and prevent being able to look straight through the fuselage through the lower windows. Decals are for two colorful "yellow-winged" aircraft: 41-F-4 of VF-41 off the Ranger, and 72-F-12 off the Wasp.
