1/32 Lockheed P-38L-5-LO Lightning

Trumpeter's latest BIG release is... a 1/32 Lightning! Put that poorly-detailed and ill-fitting Revell kit up in the attic, you want have any interest in building it after seeing this! This kit features two fully-detailed engines with full turbocharger plumbing and etched brass radiator screens, detailed landing gear and wheel wells, a fully-detailed cockpit with photo-film instruments and photo-etched throttle levers and seatbelt buckles, photoetched dive brakes, optional bomb or drop-tank armament along with the 5" HVAR rocket "Christmas Trees" and a detailed nose gun compartment with hinged panels. Only noticeable drawback: there is no provision to expose the engines! However with a little work this can be overcome. Decals are included for 2 aircraft, "#20" flown by Maj. Donald Campbell, the #2 USAAC ace in the Pacific, and "Itsy Bitsy II" flown by Maj. George Lavin.
